
Leona Louise Lewis, born 3rd April 1985, is an actor musician, activist, and singer of British origin. Born in the London Borough Of Islington she was educated at the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology, Croydon. Lewis gained national attention after she won the third series on The X Factor 2006 and was awarded a contract of PS1,000,000 from Syco music. Her winner's single, the cover version of Kelly Clarkson's "A Moment like This" was a top-charting the top spot for 4 weeks on the UK Singles Chart and broke a world record by reaching 50,000 digital downloads within 30 minutes. In February 2007, Lewis was signed to a contract for five albums in the United States with Clive Davis's record label, J Records. Lewis has continued to be successful by releasing Spirit, her first studio album. The album was platinum 10x and certified by the UK. It became the fourth album to be sold in the 2000, and was also one of the top-selling UK albums. It is reported by the Official Charts Company claims that Spirit was the best-selling 21st century album of debut by a female. Its first single, "Bleeding Love", was a seven-week standout at number top in UK and was the most-sold single of the year 2007. It was also the most-sold single in the US in the year. Lewis won the Billboard Best New Artist Award subsequent year. Echo was her second studio album. The album also featured the track "I Have You in My Eyes" in the movie Avatar. In 2011, Lewis released the single "Collide" which was a collaboration in collaboration with Swedish DJ Avicii as well as her debut extended-play, Hurt: The EP. Glassheart (2012) marked Lewis' 3rd studio album. It's an intriguing new musical direction. Lewis draws inspiration from dubstep and electronic music. Her Glassheart Tour was in the beginning of 2013 when she started recording material for her debut Christmas album. The album Christmas, With Love came out in the latter half of 2013. The album's opening track One More Sleep reached the top spot on the charts in the UK. Lewis is who is a British female solo artist was the first female artist to reach the top of the list with eight songs. The record is higher than Olivia Newton John's seven-year record.
